Swagger Wagon

I'm so glad Lindsey told me look this up. If you're on the fence about getting a minivan, this will change your mind.

RIP

OH MAN!! I just risked my life for my future students. I went to Target this morning and bought school supplies. As I was unloading the supplies from my cart to my trunk, I looked down and saw a SCORPION. I freaked out. I guess I made an audible scream that a lady heard. She drove over and asked if I needed assistance. I showed her the little devil. She then took a flip-flop and shooed it away. I awarded her the Good Citizen Award. I fully plan on telling my students this experience so that they'll appreciate the sacrifices and supplies I make for them.
P.S. I'm sure there's a cute scorpion family living in my trunk.

Not much

Heather had surgery, so we've just been tending to her every need.

I did like Heather's dance from Lake Powell a couple weeks ago. So, I'll leave you with it.

Lake Michigan

While everyone was up close by the water, Meredith was enjoying herself far away from the water.

What a fun day!

Michigan

My mom and I visited my brother (in fact, he's my only. poor guy, 5 sisters.), his wife, and their 4 kids the past week. It was so much fun to see them. They're a darling family. Michigan is beautiful in the summertime. Pleasant weather, not too hot or humid. Endless fields of maze and berries. I would recommend visiting there sometime in the summer.
In order to get to their home, we had to fly in and out of Chicago. We had a couple of hours both times to spend in the city before we had to board our Amtrak train to Kalamazoo or plane to AZ.
Windy City
Meredith was the best. She let me follow her around and take pictures as she played. She didn't do anything I asked her to; she just did her own thing. It was funny. Oh the life/mind of a 3 year old...

Mom (Jennie) walked away. Common facial expression.

Parker took this picture. Rhece is a beautiful boy, and Aunt SB should trim her bangs.

Traveling by train is great. Your family can wave and greet (or send off) you RIGHT at the platform, not at the curb. The kids loved seeing the trains. (My hair is looking a bit like Bachelorette Ali's. I need to get those roots taken care of.)

The Heartland of America

As my mom and I were walking to catch our L to the airport, we stumbled upon the filming of Transformers 3. You can see the parachuters coming down to the smoky set. Fun!

More pictures to come.
Thanks for the wonderful week!!
