Why I love summer! Last weekend, we headed up to our cabin for the holiday. Rebekah was a little upset that my mom, Heather, and I left earlier; she came up after work with my dad. Sorry, it's just one of those joys of being a capitalist. It was a lot of fun to have my oldest sister, Kristen, and her family with us.
Spending the 4th of July in Show Low, AZ is a good, old fashioned time. Small mountain communities are the best. The festivities were a little different from my 4th of July last summer in DC. The floats were much more "homemade", but that's what makes them charming. I was pleased with the fire department's firework show.
The crew took off Monday afternoon, but my mom and I stayed several more days. It was great spending the days going to water aerobics (hilarious!), riding bikes, walking, sewing, and getting my fill of classic "girl" movies. We sewed as we watched the movies. But, as soon as Mr. Darcy or Gilbert Blythe came on the screen, all machines stopped. Oh man, I loved it!
Ava and Grant were so excited for the parade! Look at how cute Kristen is all pregnant.
Hope you had a fabulous week!
