Windsor Castle

Windor Castle was easily one of my favorite places we visited.  Unfortunately, we were not allowed to take pictures of the inside.
The Queen stays here for the weekends and for some holidays.  It was interesting to tour a working and in use castle.

Until next time, Queen Elizabeth II...

Audley End and the countryside

One day we toured and walked around the estate Audley End.  It was a magnificent manor!
After Audley, we drove around the countryside and stopped at a couple small villages.  Beautiful.

The reason I'm hunching over is because it started to rain.

London Town

We ventured into London a couple days.  Day 1 was very windy, chilly, and rainy.  Day 2 was sunny, lovely, and a perfect spring day.

Day 1
 Buckingham Palace.  Recognize this balcony?

 Westminster Abbey.

Do I look like Kate?  Nah...far from her beauty.

Big Ben and Parliament.  Did you know Big Ben is the name for the bell inside the tower?  Fun fact for the day.

 The Globe Theatre.
 London Bridge.
 Here it is...
We saw a show one night.  I LOVED it!!!!!!!!!

Day 2
The Tower Bridge and the Tower of London.
 My mom is too funny.
Kensington Palace.  I was a little too early to help William and Kate move in.
You know how I feel about Harry Potter.  The closest I'll ever get to boarding the Hogwarts Express.

London is a very fun city!

Cambridge, England

My cousin Jeffrey attends Cambridge University.  He had a month long Easter break and came to the States to go to some grad school interviews and to visit family.  Since he was in the States, my mom took my sisters and me (minus Rebekah and Jennie) to England to housesit his apartment for a week. ;)  We had such a good time!  My mom (and dad) are so nice!!!

I travel in style.
(I took off my boots during the flights.)
Being on an international flight reminded me of going to Jerusalem.  Good times on these flights across the Atlantic.
We were supposed to get a Ford Focus, but the Hertz guy upgraded us to a Volvo SUV.  We didn't complain.

We toured and walked around Cambridge a couple of the days.  The University and city are so quaint and beautiful.
Neat flowers at Mary's College.
 King's College.
 The River Cam.
 Around the city of Cambridge.
Steps taken to prep for a picture.
King's College.

 Corpus Christi College.

 "The Backs" of the colleges.
I really did make a phone call.  Loved trying to locate our luggage.
 The Bridge of Sighs.
 St. John's College.
 The Mathematical Bridge.
Trinity College.  (Sir Isaac Newton's alma mater.)

Enjoying a punting ride on the River Cam.
